Here we go again! You guessed it — Adventure 2025 kicked off with another round in Prague, affectionately dubbed “the Mother of Cities.”
Now, before you start thinking I’m the type to wear socks with sandals while strolling the same cobblestone streets, let me assure you: Prague is a treasure that deserves multiple visits. Plus, an added bonus? It’s wallet-friendly, especially when you’re behind on your travel plans and face a last-minute scramble!
Getting Here: A Whole New World … of Flights:
Choosing the flight wasn’t difficult. I stuck with my “first flight of the day” rule and chose the early morning flight. To my surprise, the flight was full. Another surprise was departing the airport on time. A very rare feat these days.
Upon touching down at Václav Havel Airport, I celebrated my five-minute early arrival as I had just cracked the code to time travel. As I collected my bags faster than you can say “Czech Pilsner,” I met my Welcome Pickups driver, who was essentially a walking guidebook. His tips on public transport, hidden gems, and good food had me feeling like a local before I could even say “Prosit!”
Hotel Savoy Prague: A Mixed Bag of Comfort and Character

My home base for the first three nights was the charming Hotel Savoy Prague, situated in a quiet corner of the city —just a stone’s throw from Prague Castle.
Also, Tram #22 conveniently parked itself right outside, making my city explorations as easy as pie (or should I say, as easy as a pastry from the nearest bakery).
I gave my stay a respectable four out of five stars. The customer service was nothing short of spectacular, and the lobby? Beautiful enough to make you want to set up camp right there.

I selected a Deluxe Double Room. My room was nice. It was large enough with all the expected amenities. The Wi-Fi worked reasonably well, and there was a tea kettle – a must for me. Of course, I descaled the kettle using the vinegar and hot water remedy before using it. The bathroom featured a separate shower and bathtub and plenty of hot water.

Now, let’s talk decor. It felt a bit like stepping into a time capsule: lovely, but maybe just a wee bit too vintage? The room’s furniture had clearly seen better days, and the stained bedspread? Let’s just say it didn’t help the ambiance.
Note to self: when parting with my hard-earned cash, I’d prefer not to encounter a carpet that looks like it survived a food fight from the 90s.
The A/C in my room was more of a “suggested coolness” than actual cold air, so I took matters into my own hands and cracked a window to let in some fresh air (and probably a curious bird or two). And while the television featured international channels, I stuck with my favorite streaming services, though I spent more time in the charming local cafes.
Breakfast was included in my hotel rate and featured a standard continental spread. Though the selection was simple — croissants, muffins, and jams— it was satisfying and a nice way to start the day.

Getting Around: The Tram Chronicles
Once recharged, I set out to explore. I snagged a 72-hour public transport ticket because who wanted to walk? Not this traveler! I made sure to validate it, too — no one wants to pay a penalty like an uninformed tourist. I only got checked once, and let’s just say the inspector looked as surprised as a cat at a dog park when he saw I was a legit ticket holder.
With my ticket safely crumpled in my pocket, I boarded Tram #22 and ventured to the city center. The thrill of exploring the “City of a Hundred Spires” was like taking a bite of Prague’s famous trdelník — sweet, fulfilling, and just a little bit messy.

This time around, I delved into the captivating realm of Prague’s lesser-known museums and attractions, uncovering hidden gems that offer a glimpse into the city’s rich tapestry of history and culture. Each visit was like stepping into a new world, where art, science, and eccentricity intertwine to create an unforgettable experience.

So there you have it — a whirlwind return to a city that keeps pulling me back in. As I continue to explore, I remember that every trip can offer fresh experiences, hilarious mishaps, and countless stories worth sharing!
